The respect and preservation of our flora, fauna, soil and water is one of our most important priorities, and activities and behaviors that can jeopardize them are not permitted.

The BLUE MONKEY is  a place intended for enjoy local nature, and to relax body, mind & soul. Loud parties/music, use of drugs and excessive alcohol are not allowed.

Given that we are located in the Mayan Jungle, we are taking all the precautions for ensuring your safety as much as we can, minimizing risks but we need your help and consciousness. The local flora & fauna can present intrinsic risks, and we want our guests to be aware of them, and to ensure you that we are prepared for them. Please see the "Local Flora & Fauna" section for more information.

The presence of fire at the BLUE MONKEY is limited only to the gas kitchenette inside of the Jungle Cabins. Outdoors fires, fireworks, grills/BBQs or any other fire-threatening activities are completely forbidden. Please remember that the roof and structure of the Jungle Cabins and Solar Tower are made of natural (but highly flammable materials) dry grass & wood.

The BLUE MONKEY has the closest hospitals at Akumal (approx. 11 km) and Tulum (approx. 24 km). Given this distance to the hospitals, we really work to prevent accidents and mitigate risks in behalf of our guests. Please also take into mind that due particularities of the Mexican Health System (public and private services), WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED OUR GUESTS TO HAVE A WIDE COVERAGE MEDICAL INSURANCE. We will do all in our power to assist you the best we can in case or emergency, but please helps us to ensure your safety.

At the BLUE MONKEY your pets are welcome! But bare in mind again that we are located in the Mayan Jungle, where local fauna presence is common, and several unknown stimuli to your pet (noises, odors, spaces, etc.) will be present. For some pets raised in cities and without extensive contact to nature, it can be a challenging experience. Also, depending of the size and behaviour of your pet, disorientation or being target of local predators can be possible. Talk to us about the particularities of your pet to assist you the best we can.
