"An indescribably visionary and inspired situation. What Alonso and Miguel have created here in the magical forest is something like a sanctuary, a biosphere and sacred site. Only with independent networking possibilities of Airbnb could we have found such an amazing place.
Details: picture perfect and solidly constructed lodging. The design of the units allows for seamless existence with the outdoors AND - somehow -complete privacy. The lay out was perfect for our family to lounge, sleep comfortably.
The grounds are superb. Infinite care is clearly put into the placement and maintenance of the pool, the countless plants, the paths and the FOUR STORY TOWER FOR nature watching! Really too many features to write, but all were appreciated.
Alonso is right nearby ready to share his time and wisdom, knowledge, food...or simply to offer you your space and privacy. This was a life changing Airbnb, the very best the company has to offer."

"The Blue Monkey is a fantastic place! Although it’s in the middle of the jungle, it has all the modern services, even a super fast internet connection. Francisco Miguel has really taken care to make the place comfortable in a sustainable way, and we loved the observation tower! We really enjoyed watching sunrises and sunsets there, as well as the magnificent night sky.
Adittionally to all that, Francisco Miguel has a wealth of both scientific and local knowlege, he gave us really good suggestions for off-the-beaten-path places and activities. We were also very impressed by his friendliness and genuine interest in providing a personalised service for his guests. All in all, we thoroughly recommend the place, we had a fantastic time there and look forward to coming back when we visit the Yucatan peninsula again."

The first night in a cabin in the jungle is a little weird, it's surprising to hear all this nature. we're not used to it anymore. For those who want to take out a little tourist hotels on the coast and be quiet, go there with your eyes closed... and the pool in the evening to cool off, a real luxury! Thank you Alonso."

You have to arrive here with humility, but we've learned a lot from Blue Monkey. For example, enjoy living with simplicity. Respect the nature that surrounds us. It offers real wealth.
If you are looking for a place, away from the noise, stress and pressure, this place and these people is a “real” place that makes you revive.
The hospitality of the Mexicans is remarkable, even in the most remote areas (no safety issue for those who would be worried, on the contrary everyone helped us!). But we really felt nostalgic after leaving Alonso and the Blue Monkey."

"After almost a month travelling in Quintana Roo and more touristic cities and towns, I loved my stay at Blue Monkey, the place is beautiful and the hosts made me feel like I found my jungle home!
The place: a lovely stylish two floor hut in the middle of a jungle, no noise pollution - just nature and birds. Great place to escape the everyday!
Kitchen well equipped for cooking and coffee provided (amazing to find real coffee in the morning). The pool for a swim in the morning or after a nice walk is a huge plus. The whole place is thought out in sustainable eco way - and really well taken care of.
The bonus:
- 14 meter tower to see sunrises,sunsets, sit above the trees and have a coffee or a glass of wine. Or even to do some yoga if one is into it.
- Alonso - the host - is amazing and knowledgeable- he can tell you a lot about the jungle, the waters under it and Mayan culture and if available even show you a few hidden jungle gems! After your stay here you feel as a jungle local citizen :)!
I travelled alone and without a car, the Blue Monkey arranged a nice pick up/drop off for me at Chemuyil for a small fee.
I really enjoyed blue monkey as a getaway from the busy area and learnt so much about the jungle and life there. There are cenotes around and the beach if you feel like it, even a monkey sanctuary and much more. Of course be aware, it’s a jungle - and you are a bit further away from shops and stuff, so come prepared or the hosts I am sure will be able to help you if you need anything while you there. Chemuyil - small village near by also has some nice places to eat out.
In general I would definitely recommend to pass by here with friends or alone if you can! Personally it was a highlight of my trip."
